IUS departments host grad school workshop

A graduate school workshop, sponsored by the IUS Honors Program and the English Club, was held on Friday, April 2, in Hoosier Room West. Will Biel, English senior and chair of the Honors Program Student Advisory Board, said the purpose of the workshop was to educate students about graduate school. “The graduate school workshop was designed to spread information about how to apply to graduate school,” Biel said.

Officials enforce seat belt use, cite text messaging while driving

A vehicle in the Meadow Lodge Parking Lot was stopped by IUS Police on March 10 and was given a warning for not properly using a seat belt and using a cell phone while operating a vehicle. Indiana and Kentucky state law enforcement officers are cracking down on drivers violating the rules of the road.

Bullying cited on campus

Junior faculty on campus have seen a rise and have become more concerned with student’s behavior toward instructors and professors. More specifically, younger, female faculty members are feeling as though they are being bullied by students through disrespect, physical intimidation and inappropriate sexual comments.

Student veterans participate in camp-out, Victory Week

On Wednesday, March 17, the Student Veterans Organization and Phi Beta Sigma joined together to host an event to create awareness about homelessness. The events were set up by Rueben Otero, computer science senior, and Aaron Neely, psychology junior. Both organizations were hoping to bring awareness to the students about how homelessness impacts the community, but, this specific week, they were also pointing out homeless veterans.

New furniture installed during break
