At 9:25 p.m. a dorm resident called to report his vacuum cleaner was stolen from his dorm. He said he had the impression his roommate knew more than he was saying. At 11:07 p.m. the resident called back and said he was being threatened by his roommate after he accused him of stealing the vacuum.

A report of gun shots coming from south Residence Lodge area. Police investigated and found students shooting fireworks. Students were warned not to shoot them toward the geese, or on campus.

A squirrel jumped out of a trash can in McCullough Plaza and scratched a young boy’s arm as he was throwing away some trash. The squirrel was unharmed.
May 24
A complainant reported hearing a friend being “beaten” over the phone on Meadow room 100. Officer investigated and found only a verbal dispute and no signs of injury.

A vehicle was towed from the Woodland Lot for having nine unpaid parking tickets.
June 7
Police stopped a yellow Silverado in the Evergreen Lot. The driver was trying to learn to drive a stick shift.
June 17
An injury report was made for an employee that fell off a ladder in University South, room 212. The caller said the hourly employee had a scratched elbow and may have a knot forming. The officer decided the employee would not be taken to the hospital as his injuries were minor.
June 18
An injury report was made when a student fell while walking at the bus stop. She had lacerations on her face and knees, as well as a little bit of swelling. It was determined she fell because she lost her balance due to an ear infection.

A woman smashed her hand in her car door in the Hickory Lot.

Officers investigated a bouncing sound coming from the ceiling above the IUS Police Department. Officers discovered a student who was vaulting over furniture in the breezeway of University Center at 11:59 p.m., the student was asked to stop for the night.
July 15
An employee injured her back trying to pull the garbage bag out of a garbage can. She was instructed to fill out an accident report.
July 16
A student called to report while walking to her car a van pulled up and four white males propositioned her for sexual favors. She began to follow trying to get the license plate number but was unable to get it. Police investigated, but didn’t find any vehicles matching the description.
August 4
Police reported a campus wide power failure at 9:39 a.m.
August 4
A female, who parked her convertible by the bus stop with the top down, reported her cell phone had been stolen from her car when she ran inside for a minute. She didn’t realize her phone was missing until the next morning when she couldn’t find it anywhere in her car.
August 6
An employee was injured in a floor buffer accident.
August 14
While investigating a suspicious vehicle in the Central Parking Lot, an officer discovered subjects getting ready to go fishing in the IUS Lake. Officer advised there was no fishing allowed after dark.
