New Albany Fire Department called to report someone trapped in the elevator located in the University Center when the emergency button was pressed. IUS Police investigated and found no one in the elevator, but did notice several children in the area.
Sept. 18 at 1:17 p.m.
A hit-and-run was reported at the Physical Plant when a light pole was damaged by an unknown source. Maybe they didn’t realize they hit it until they got home.
Sept. 19 at 12:09 a.m.
Suspicious activity was reported about a vehicle parked in the Dogwood Lot. When IUS Police investigated, they found the vanity light on in the car, no one in the vehicle and reported everything else checked out OK.
Sept. 20 at 2:04 a.m.
IUS Police stopped a driver on Grenadier Dr. The driver was reported to be lost and followed the officer to Grove Lodge.
Sept. 20 at 6:39 p.m.
A smoke alarm was set off in Forest Lodge when students burned grilled cheese sandwiches.
Sept. 21 at 1:00 p.m.
A smoke alarm was set off in Grove Lodge when students burned a hamburger on the stove.
Sept. 21 at 1:43 p.m.
A report of a small snake in the hallway of Knobview Hall was made to IUS Police. The Physical Plant was contacted to remove the snake.
Sept. 21 at 2:45 p.m.
A student came into the IUS Police department to report vandalism and a theft from her vehicle that had occurred. She had left her car parked in the IUS Softball parking lot for the weekend, and someone broke the driver side rear window of her vehicle.
Sept. 21 at 5:45 p.m.
IUS Police received a report of a dog locked in a hot car parked in the Central parking lot. The vehicle was not there when officers arrived where the caller reported the vehicle being parked.
Sept. 22 at 1:05 a.m.
A humidity alarm went off in the Life Sciences Building. IUS Police responded and turned off the alarm.
Sept. 22 at 10:01 a.m.
A smoke alarm was set off in Meadow Lodge by a student’s perfume.
Sept. 22 at 11:52 p.m.
IUS Police received a noise complaint about people outside Woodland Lodge. Before an officer could arrive the complainant called back and said the people had left, so IUS Police disregarded the call.
Sept. 23 at 7:17 p.m.
A smoke alarm was set off in Forest Lodge when an oven got too hot.
Sept. 24 at 8:37 a.m.
A smoke alarm was set off in Orchard Lodge when a student burned eggs.
Sept. 24 at 6:50 p.m.
A smoke alarm was set off in Meadow Lodge by a hairdryer. That may be a first.
Sept. 25 at 1:28 a.m.
IUS Police received a report of a noise complaint at Meadow Lodge. Officers investigated but were unable to locate the noise complaint.
