Dear Editors,
I would like to commend the IUS administration for taking the enormous step to enhance the campus recycling program.
The new Single Stream Recycling approach is much more expansive in the types of items that can be recycled and it is as easy as is humanly possible with no need to sort items into different bins.
In taking this step, the administration has made the campus a leader and a role model for southern Indiana, and the entire campus community should be proud of that.
With this very easy recycling program, I hope all members of the campus community will respond in kind and make use of this wonderful opportunity to preserve our resources.
I am still seeing a lot of recyclable items in the trash, and I know the campus community can do better than that.
This expansive recycling program decreases the amount of waste that goes into landfills and also decreases the need for new resources for paper, aluminum and the like.
The administration has done its part, now let’s do ours!
