Rules of the road do not exist anymore — or so people seem to think.
A lot of people who drive today do not follow the rules of the road.
I realize I am a cautious driver and have been compared to a grandma on the road, but I choose life over death.
People do crazy things while driving and do not fear getting a ticket.
A woman recently got pulled over for shaving her pubic region while driving. Her ex-husband was holding onto the wheel while she did this.
I have seen and heard of people do many crazy things while driving, but this one tops them all.
Who would want to do this in public and who doesn’t realize the danger of this?
People need to be more careful.
There are so many accidents and deaths that could have been avoided if people were more cautious while driving.
People forget that they are surrounded by tons of metal.
I have seen people reading the newspaper while driving on the expressway or trying to put on makeup while driving.
I know people who paint their nails in the car and don’t think anything about it.
It is scary. I do not want to be on the road with these people.
Red lights and stop signs no longer mean stop.
Now, they apparently mean “Go as fast as you can and try not to hit anyone.”
Every time I am at a stop light, I wait a couple seconds after the light turns green to make sure no one is going to run the red light.
People do not wait their turn at four-way stops.
Speed limits have become speed minimums.
It is rare that I see anyone doing the speed limit.
I feel like I am in a NASCAR race and everyone is trying to get to their destination as fast as possible.
It is scary to see a semi truck in your rearview mirror speeding toward your car.
A vehicle that big needs to be extra careful while driving.
I feel like I am going to get run over every time I get on the express way.
Drivers get so close to my bumper, I don’t know how they will not hit me.
Turn signals have become optional.
After someone has cut me off, the least they can do is let me know that they will be turning down the next street.
Instead of turning on their turn signal, they slam on their brakes and take as long as possible to turn.
Passing is allowed at any time.
The people who drive down my street will pass you at anytime, on the left or the right if they feel you are not going fast enough.
It is clearly marked that this is not allowed, but they think the rules do not apply to them.
Bike lanes have become another lane to drive in.
Drivers do not realize that bike lanes are for bikes, not for cars.
There are signs along the street and symbols painted on the road, but they still do not get the hint.
I have seen people driving in both lanes and they do not realize someone is beside them.
They are too busy talking on their phones or texting to pay attention to what is beside them.
It is scary to see people who drive like this. They think there are no rules of the road that apply to them.
Wake up earlier to get everything finished before you leave the house.
Put on your makeup, finish shaving and read the newspaper before you get in the car.
Give yourself extra time to get where you need to go.
Leave the racing to the professionals.
