While an IUS Police officer was patrolling, he observed a vehicle driving left of the lane’s center on Grant Line Road.
The officer made a welfare check and could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath. The driver, Dorothy J. McDuffy, 53, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
The passenger Michael A. Martin, 57, was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
Sept. 25 at 8 a.m.
Two people were shouting at one another in the Hickory Parking Lot. An officer advised the two to calm down.
Sept. 26 at 2:30 a.m.
An IUS Police officer responded to assist the New Albany Police Department on an alarm at Koerber’s Jewelry on Blackiston Mill Road.
The building was secured and nothing was reported stolen.
Sept. 27 at 12:33 a.m.
A fight occurred in Orchard Lodge. An officer responded, but both parties involved didn’t want to pursue the matter.
No report was taken.
Sept. 27 at 11:45 a.m.
A student in the Life Sciences Building became ill. The student was picked up by her boyfriend and taken to the hospital.
Sept. 27 at 9 p.m.
A student reported she had dropped her wallet in the stairwell of the north entrance to Woodland Lodge.
When the wallet was turned into the IUS Police Office later in the evening, it was missing $300. A report was taken.
Sept. 28 at 6:56 p.m.
An officer was dispatched on a report of someone skateboarding and throwing garbage. A verbal warning was given.
Sept. 29 at 12:21 a.m.
A female in Meadow Lodge called Emergency Medical Services about abdominal pain. An officer came to assist. EMS transferred her to Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Sept. 30 at 3:25 p.m.
After falling out of her chair and hitting her head in a Knobview Hall classroom, a student was treated at the IUS Police Office. The student refused outside medical attention.
