Feb. 6
• A medical assist call was made from a student complaining that she was dizzy, her heart was hurting, was short of breath and her left arm felt numb. Dispatcher called 911, and an ambulance was dispatched, but the student refused treatment when they arrived. Her sister was called to transport the student to the hospital.
• While on routine patrol, an officer heard and responded to a loud noise in Meadow Lodge. When the officer was let into the room, after knocking several times and identifying himself as a police officer, he found several underage students in possession of alcohol. He was also informed that two other subjects had jumped out of the second floor window in an attempt to avoid the police. Upon further investigation, the officer found one individual hiding under the bed, one under the covers and a baseball bat on the floor. The officer later found a subject unconscious in the bathroom with vomit covering the walls and a black marker penis drawn on the subject’s stomach. This subject was taken to the hospital and the others were given a warning. The two individuals who jumped from the window turned themselves in and will be handled in accordance with residence hall regulations. The two suspects that were not students were banned form campus for 180 days.
Feb. 8
• A smoke alarm in Woodland Lodge sounded when a grilled cheese was burnt by a student in the dorm.
• Police broke up a crowd of 20 people in a dorm room in Grove Lodge at 1:22 a.m. When the officer knocked on the door, someone yelled, “It’s the f–king cops.” Upon entering and investigating, the officer asked the person who answered the door why she had responded the way she did when he identified himself as a police officer. The subject said, “We are black people, that is how we respond to cops.” Nine of the 20 people admitted to drinking during the evening, the other 11 took breathalyzers and were asked to leave. Three of those were not students and were banned from campus for 180 days. The nine who admitted to drinking included Stephen Douglas Brown, 19, [who was also cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor on Feb. 2], Whitney D. Duncan, 19, Tearia M. Epps, 19, Elisha N. Griffin, 19, Demarko R. McGinnis, 19, Yulia S. Morozov, 20, Robert L. Oates III, 20, Rodricka N. Shoulders, 19 and Tamara Williams, 18, were cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.
• Police broke up a beer pong game in Meadow Lodge. Kyle R. Bishop, 18, Darry Hutcherson Jr., 20, Allen Sewell, 19, Travis S. Shroeder, 19, Jessica I. Scholle, 20, Tamera E. Trexler, 19, and Natalie A. Petrosino, 18, were all given citations for illegal possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor. In addition to the citation, Scholle, Trexler and Petrosino were banned from campus for 180 days.
Feb. 10
• Police responded to an alarm in Forest Lodge when a resident burned their chicken dinner on the stove.
Feb. 12
• Police responded to a suspicious person passed out in the drive through of Taco Bell with the vehicle running at 5:22 a.m.
• Snedegar Construction Company, a sub-contractor for Duke Energy, poked through a 10-inch thick water main at 9:07 a.m. The company was using a directional boring device to install a new electrical feed to the campus when the accident was reported.
Feb. 13
• Police were called to Woodland Lodge after receiving a report that Students were building tents out of furniture. Report was determined to be unfounded when no tents were found.
