Children’s Center celebrates Bubbles, Bugs and Bulbs

IU Southeast celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with an event full of Bubbles, Bugs and Bulbs. Faculty, staff and students brought their children to the event sponsored by the Children’s Center and Family Programs. The children participated in six workstations of interactive activities. The children were given duffle bags to color and put their crafts in. There was also a station to decorate flowers with stickers.

Donated dresses save Henryville prom

Erin Tyler, business marketing and management junior, is collecting donations of prom and pageant dresses for storm victims. On March 2, a tornado outbreak traveled through Southern Indiana and Kentucky. Washington and Clark counties were greatly affected, and Henryville schools also had significant damage, causing students to finish their school years in alternate locations. Tyler said she considers prom one of her best high school memories and could not imagine a young girl not having the same opportunity.

Computer graphics artist adds flare, effects to reality

Brandon Clements, computer graphics junior, is an aspiring visual effects and computer graphics artist, and his work has won awards in various competitions. Clements has created cities, demolished cars and set them on fire through visual effects. At Purdue University, Clements takes computer graphic classes, which vary from Digital Audio and Video to Digital Lighting and Rendering. Digital lighting and Rendering is widely used in animated movies, such as “Toy Story.” “It is one of the key things I have to understand for my future career,” Clements said.
