Despite thunderstorms the night before, the Grenadier baseball team played a double header Friday, April 3, at the Koetter Sports Baseball Complex against Brescia University.
The Student Government Association swore in new senators on April 2. Along with the members that ran for senator, Josh Sesar and Elizabeth Jackson were sworn in after a vote was taken to waive their two-week probationary period.
James Bonsall, business management sophomore, and Amanda Denbo, business marketing junior, have won the offices of Student Government Association president and vice president, respectively.
The Student Government Association elections will be held all through this week.
The senate meeting on March 12 started 20 minutes late because there weren’t enough senators present to have a quorum. There are 16 senators in SGA and 11 needed to be in attendance to have a quorum. The SGA has to have a quorum to be able to vote on legislation. Members not in attendance had to be phoned and told their presence was needed.
Student Government Association will give away pizza on Tuesday, March 17, and Thursday, March 19, at noon in the hallway in front of the bookstore for all students that vote in the election.
The Student Government Association still has 78 percent of its budget left on its books, which if left unspent, could result in a cut in its funding for the next session.
The Student Government Association passed a bill that would pay up to $8 per person for students going on the Hoosiers for Higher Education trip on Feb. 17.
Rather than coming up with a budget every year, the resolution proposed requests a percentage of the Student Activity Fee from the Student Life Committee. The committee determines how much student groups get from the Student Activity Fee.
