Scribner House Opens Doors Educating Harvest Visitors

Mackenzie Kaskie, IUS Student November 4, 2025
The Daughters and Sons of the American Revolution opened their doors to the historic Scribner House in New Albany, Ind., on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, during Harvest Homecoming. They invited visitors to step back into 18th century life. Militia camp displays, drum and fife music, food, and lessons on colonial life were offered to give visitors an immersive look at early American history. The event was hosted by volunteers and reenactors from Indiana and Kentucky. The event aimed to assist in preserving local heritage, honor the city’s founders, and inspire a deeper appreciation for the community’s roots.
