On Jan. 7 Indiana State Senator Karen Tallian introduced SB314, a bill reducing the possibility of jail time and criminal conviction from possessing less than two ounces of marijuana. Rather, the bill proposed would make the penalty a civil fine similar to a parking violation. Reduced penalties for other marijuana-related offenses would also fall under this bill. Students from IU Southeast give their opinions of marijuana and if they think it should be legalized in Indiana.
