Thursday, Sept. 25 some IU Southeast students experienced quite a show. Joseph Tran, comedian, illusionist and entertainer from Hollywood, Calif. performed in the UC Commons from noon – 1 p.m.. Tran travels around the country visiting college campuses and a variety of other venues.

“Indiana is becoming one of my favorites; it is a great crowd,” said Tran. “The college scene is definitely my favorite place to perform.”

Tran’s past job history consists of working as a tour guide at Universal Studios, acting, former stunt-man for the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers and performing magic.

“About six years ago, I decided that if I was going to do this job, I was going to have to give it a full time shot,” said Tran. “The show that is specifically for colleges, is about three to four years old, but it contains a life-time of work,” said Tran.

Tran’s hour long performance had students involved, entertained and laughing. Psychology freshman Kelly Howard was directly involved in the experience by volunteering to help Tran with one of his illusions.

“It was like the coolest thing ever. I never get picked for this kind of stuff,” said Howard.
