Whitney Duncan, general studies senior, is a point guard for the IUS Women’s Basketball team.
Duncan has been playing basketball at IU Southeast since she was a freshman in 2007.
“I really like the basketball team,” Duncan said. ”It’s like an extended family.”
Duncan is from Louisville where she attended Moore High School.
While at Moore High School, she played basketball and ran track as a sprinter.
The IUS Women’s Basketball team is returning all five of its starters from last season, with Duncan being one of them.
Duncan was last year’s Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
Last season she averaged nine points and three assists a game.
Duncan has been recognized for her achievements several times throughout her career at IU Southeast and has received numerous award.
Duncan has been named the KIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week three times.
She was also named to the KIAC Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team in 2009-2010.
