Assistant volleyball coach Sarah Drury-Petkovic resigned on Jan. 7.
Petkovic has taken a position with the University of Louisville as their director of Volleyball Operations for their new head coach, Anne Kordes.
Katie Johnson, sophomore setter, said Drury-Petkovic completed her sister, Lesley Drury-Prather, who is the head coach of the volleyball team at IU Southeast.
“We would love to have her, but we understand the circumstances,” Johnson said.
Drury-Petkovic is a 2002 graduate of the University of Louisville, where she played libero for the Cardinals.
She took her first coaching position as an assistant at Assumption High School, where she spent two years.
She is also entering her third year as a coach of Kentucky-Indiana Volleyball Academy.
She took the job as an IUS assistant under her sister in January 2009.
“We couldn’t be more thankful or appreciative for all of Sarah’s hard work and dedication to our student-athletes,” Joe Glover, Interim athletic director, said in a press release. “I have no doubt she will be a wonderful asset to the University of Louisville volleyball program.”
