Though the 2008 season maybe off to a rocky start, the women’s volleyball team is determined.

However, it is not determination that can win games.

The women’s volleyball team fell to Lindsay Wilson Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Activities Building.
As the game got started it was evident that the Grenadiers were going to put up a fight.

With high spirits and great communication, the basics of any sport, the fans were off their seats.

In the beginning, Lindsey Wilson struggled in areas of returning and blocking.

It was another story for Lindsey Williams, IUS junior, and Vanessa Stauble, IUS junior.

These front row defenders dominated the night with block after block.

Stauble was even capable of confusing Lindsey Wilson with her secret tip over.

Despite the fact Williams and Stauble dictated the net, Katie Tinsley, senior, held the team together.

When she was on the court, Tinsley did her job in recovering any and everything that came her way.

Tinsley manhandled the entire game and court. While Tinsley’s aggressive plays ended her on the ground, she showed teammates and fans she was there for the win.

By the third and fourth game Lindsey Wilson had regained strength in their hitters.

Katharina Nobel, freshman middle blocker, towered over the net blocking anything Grenadiers’ tried.

Rachel Achieng, sophomore middle hitter, was not ready to give up this war.

Returns with a vengeance, was the Blue Raiders new strategy.

IU Southeast was beaten down and unable to dig anything out of those trenches.

Though the Grenadiers were unable to win victory over the Blue Raiders, the team demonstrated a great game and gave hope to plans for a great season.
