A bird was flying through University Center near the Police station. A dispatcher caught the bird in a box and released it outside.

A student fell on campus at 7:16 p.m. and needed police assistance. An IUS Police office pushed her in a wheelchair to her car.

IUS Police towed a total of six student vehicles for not paying outstanding parking tickets.

A student backed their car into the back of another student’s car in the Central Parking Lot. In case you missed it in driver’s education, that’s what the rearview mirror is for.

A professor called IUS Police with a concern about the IUS Observatory. He told the police he thought he had seen tire marks going up toward the observatory. IUS Police checked it out, and said it was fine.
April 1
IUS Police investigated a verbal domestic disturbance in Orchard Lodge at 2:58 a.m. No further information was available.
April 2
IUS Police responded to a complaint of underage drinking and the smell of smoke coming from a dorm room in Forest Lodge. The officer knocked on the door several times and announced police before the subjects opened the door. Upon entering the dorm room, the office found four underage individuals including Megan Smith, 19, who lived in the dorm room, Trevor A. Money, 19, a non student, Joshua Andrew Salesman, 18, also a non student and a 17-year-old non-student. Salesman was arrested for trespassing due to violating a previous 180-day trespass warning that he received on Dec. 28, 2008. In that incident, Salesman was found unconscious in the study area with a can of dusting spray close by. Upon investigating his bag, the officer found a pocket knife and a marijuana crusher. At that time Salesman was released into his mother’s custody, and given a 180-day trespass warning.
Smith was cited for possession of alcohol by a minor. Money was cited as well and given a 180 day trespass warning. The 17-year-old was given a 180-day trespass warning, and released into his mother’s custody.
April 2
IUS Police responded to a report of a dog on campus near Physical Sciences. Officer investigated and lost visual on the dog as it past the Children’s Center.
