A Meadow Lodge CA called IUS Police at 6:55 a.m., to report a bag of marijuana found in her bathroom. Another student claimed the marijuana belonged to her. The officer also noticed a male subject sleeping on the floor.
The officer woke him up after several failed attempts, and the subject notified the officer that he wasn’t supposed to be in the dorms due to a previous 180 day trespass warning. The officer wrote the marijuana’s owner a citation for possession of marijuana, but the officer ripped up the citation. He informed her that the issue would be reported to Student Affairs for any disciplinary action. No further information was available on the trespasser.

While patrolling Forest Lodge, an IUS Police officer found a pair of plaid shorts and shirt that were covered in vomit. Upon noticing a student repeatedly opening his dorm room door slightly and then closing it when the officer made eye contact, the officer decided to investigate the room.
Once inside the dorm room, the officer suddenly heard the toilet flush in the bathroom. The officer reported upon opening the door he noticed such a strong smell of marijuana that it “made me sick to my stomach.”
In all, the officer found six people in the dorm: five males, three dorm resident students and two non-students, and one female non-student. In the bathroom the officer found drug paraphernalia, empty baggies and two empty Budweiser bottles.
After searching the dorm, the officer asked one of the males, who lived in a different dorm, if he had anything in his dorm such as alcohol or drugs.
The student said he “might have alcohol,” and agreed to allow the officer to search his dorm. The officer found several items related to marijuana in the bathroom of the other dorm, and the student was nice enough to show the officer several places that he “might” have hidden marijuana.
The three students were referred to Student Affairs for disciplinary action, and the three non-students, Devon L. Hayden, 22, Grace Ann Kimble, 19 and Joshua C. Roach, 23, were given 180 day no trespass citations.
Items confiscated by IUS Police included:
Three homemade bongs, including one 2 liter soft drink bottle, one 20 oz soft drink bottle and one Airsoft BB container, two empty baggies with marijuana residue, two marijuana roaches, aluminum foil and one skull shaped ashtray.
The vomit-covered clothing was never claimed, but believed to belong to one of the dorm residents in question.

IUS Police pulled over a vehicle for rolling through a stop sign. The officer had reason to believe the vehicle was driven by a male student who reportedly drives around campus smoking marijuana. The officer approached the window and smelled marijuana smoke. The officer called for backup, and placed the driver and another male, who was a passenger, in handcuffs and began a search of the vehicle. He found a black wooden pipe with marijuana residue on it in the glove box, and marijuana seeds throughout the vehicle. The officer removed the handcuffs and asked the driver if he had any more marijuana. The driver confirmed he did in his dorm room. He and the officer returned to his dorm room in Forest Lodge at which point the officer took a baggie of marijuana into his possession. The officer informed the driver that he would be turned over to Student Affairs for further discipline, but no arrest would be made.
