The Student Government Association of IU Southeast has already been working to implement new programs for the academic year.

On Sept. 4, the first meeting of the semester, Alex Yson, SGA treasurer, announced that there are fifteen scientific calculators available to IU Southeast students for rental from the School of Business office.

Students can stop by the School of Business office to check out a calculator throughout the semester.

IU Southeast students also have the chance to win prizes again at the end of spring semester or next academic year by taking surveys for the SGA.

Stephon Moore, SGA president said about 10 percent of the student body participated in taking the surveys given out by the SGA last year, and in return were entered to win prizes.

“Five students were given $200 scholarships, and some other people were given $10 applied to their UCards” Moore said.

The SGA also supports a program which offers tutoring vouchers for students. For more information on tutoring vouchers, visit the Student Development Center in University Center, room 203.

New officers were also inducted at the meeting on Sept. 4.

The Chief Justice for the SGA is now Angel Russell, and the new Associate Chief Justices are Erin Coffee, Kristin Fendley and Noah McCourt.

The next SGA meeting will be Sept. 18 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in University Center, room 024.
