The class is a four-week course, held on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The last session of Here’s to Beer! was in February and had 15 students. Dustin Wilcox, student in the February session, said multiple samples of stouts and ales during class and assigned homework, such as, the “Beer Score Sheet” contributed to his beer education.
“I gained a better appreciation for craft beer,” Wilcox said. “It broadened my horizons of various beers to enjoy.”
Wilcox said students were taught to consider aroma, appearance, flavor, overall impression and history in their beer samplings.
Here’s to Beer! is one of the many non-credit courses offered through the Division of Continuing Studies.
Courses vary in price and range from culinary to career workshops and photography to computer technology courses.
Students can register for courses online, by phone, mail or walk-in at the Continuing Studies office.
