Head men’s basketball coach Wiley Brown is in his seventh winning season at IU Southeast. Brown started his long basketball career in his hometown Sylvester, Georgia starting in the fourth grade. He got his first pair of tennis shoes from his high school basketball coach, Travis Ragsdale. Before coming to IU Southeast, Brown coached 15 years for the University of Louisville and while playing for Louisville, he helped to clinch the NCAA tournament in 1980.
He has now led the undefeated Grenadier’s to a 17-0 record in the KIAC and they have earned the number one seed in the tournament; they are currently 23-5 over-all. Brown has been named KIAC coach of the year.
