With Spring Break just a few days away, IU Southeast students are getting excited about a week away from their classes. Whether it’s spending time with friends and family, hanging out in the sun or finally getting to sleep in, these IU Southeast students are ready for a break.
Michael Sauffer, pre music freshman, said he’s just happy that he’ll be able to sleep in for the entire break.
“Pretty much, I don’t have any plans,” Sauffer said. “I’m just staying home and going to work, trying to relax whenever I can.”
Nick Watkins, communications senior, said that he is hoping to sleep in a lot and that he is looking forward to a local event happening during the break.
“I’m going to the Louisville Comic Con,” Watkins said. “Which is pretty much better than Panama or Daytona to me.”
But sleeping in isn’t the top priority for every student at IU Southeast. One student is spending his break with his family.
“My family and I are going to Disney World,” Kevin Blalock, sociology junior, said. “My brother just got back from Afghanistan. He did a 18 month tour over there and he told us before he left that when he got back, he wanted everybody to go to Disney world.”
Blalock said that he’s most excited being able to take his kids to Disney World.
“My daughter’s real young so she’s not going to remember it, but my son’s three years old and he’s really excited about it,” Blalock said. “If I don’t get to do anything else but watch him have fun, I’ll be happy.”
