IUS students were able to shoot hoops to score a $250 scholarship in McCullough Plaza on March 17.
The event was hosted by the Alumni Association in honor of March Madness.
“It’s so we can increase membership,” Kelsie Roush, accounting sophomore and vice president of events in the Alumni Association, said, “and so we can have fun in celebrating March Madness.”
Students could participate if they signed up to be a part of the Alumni Association. Upon signing up, the students were given five shots. If the students made at least one basket, their name was entered into a drawing for the $250 scholarship.
The association provided water, lemonade and popcorn for the event. Roush said she was incredibly happy with the turnout.
“I think we have about 50+ new members that signed up today,” Roush said.
